Blinds
Project statement
The “Blinds” series explores the quiet tension between covering and revealing. Straight, dense stitches sewn over found black-and-white portraits of women obscure their faces while allowing glimpses through slits. The thread casts shadows, creating intimacy and fragmentation. It reflects on identity, memory, and the boundaries between visibility and protection. The act of stitching transforms the image—adding a new narrative, asserting visibility, and inviting the viewer to look without fully seeing.
